LA Commons Call for Lead Artist and Associate Artist:
2024 MacArthur Park Stop the Hate Youth Arts Mural Project

LA Commons is searching for 1 lead artist and 1 associate artist to work with a core Youth Arts Team (Age 15-25) to collect community stories, and to design and a mural for the MacArthur Park area that shares the stories.Youth Arts team members will meet weekly and be paid a stipend for their work. LA Commons will coordinateproject partners, supply acquisition, workshop space and recruiting the Youth Arts team. The team willcontribute to ongoing efforts to increase neighborhood engagement with and beautification of the park as wellas to raise awareness, build understanding, and add to statewide Stop the Hate efforts. Workshops will takeplace weekly on Wednesdays from 5-7pm at CARECEN.

Call for Artists: LA Commons 2024 Mona Park Arts Project

LA Commons is searching for a Lead Artist to work with a core Youth Arts Team (Age 15-25) to collect community stories, and to design and create small murals for the interior of the Mona Park Recreation Center. LA Commons develops artistic and cultural projects that reveal the unique stories of L.A.’s Neighborhoods and engage visitors through cultural tours. Workshops will take place on a weekly basis at Mona Park Recreation Center.

2024 Call for Associate Artists: Carver Park Mural Project

LA Commons is searching for a local artist to work with a core Youth Arts Team (Age 15-25) to collect community stories, and to design and create  a mural at George Washington Carver Park.  The Associate Artist will partner with Artist Kiara Winston to lead a team of Youth Artists to gather stories and information and design and create a mural connected to themes of of seeds, food justice, and the wealth of community. 

2024 Call for Lead and Associate Visual Artists: Fremont HS Printmaking Project

LA Commons seeks lead artists for a project beginning late January 2024.. LA Commons develops artistic and cultural projects that reveal the unique stories of L.A.’s Neighborhoods and engage visitors through cultural tours. LA Commons is partnering with  UMMA Fremont Wellness Center, LA Neighborhood Land Trust, community members, and students from Fremont High School to raise the community visibility and activation of the wellness center, community garden and community members work to create a Healthy Culture Hub surrounding Fremont HS.
