The MacArthur Park immigration stories project was by far one of the most challenging projects I have ever participated in. we embarked on this journey demanding, communication, tenacity, endurance, patience, openness and tolerance. This is a microcosm of wat it takes to work with any community to create something of significance. No one ever said it would be easy to work with the community. As a community artist, if it were, I probably would rather be doing something else. But we did it. And this is a project I definitely feel pride in the accomplishment. I learned as much as I taught and I enjoyed working with everyone. The CARECEn community is nothing short of amazing, a breath of fresh air in the struggle for justice in the midst of such a chaotic world.
