LA Commons engages communities in the creation of public art that tells their unique stories and serves as the basis for dialogue, interaction, and a shared understanding of Los Angeles.

Advocacy
Everyone has a story to tell. Our art creation process begins when we gather artists, youth and community members to share stories and reflect on their neighborhoods. Such spaces enrich our sense of community, deep appreciation of neighbors, and the wealth of knowledge and experience among storytellers. These cultural connections inform the theme and artwork designs.
Our Programs

Neighborhood
Story Connection
Neighborhood Story Connection creates a space where stories and voices are heard and then transformed into public art that educates, empowers and enriches Los Angeles. LA Commons’ core audiences are youth, artists and community residents of all ages in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Los Angeles. The neighborhoods are chosen for their diverse demographic characteristics.
