Celebrate 25 Years of LA Commons!

This year marks 25 years since our founder and Executive Director, Karen Mack, had the bold vision to use artistic and cultural expression to uplift the voices and stories of Los Angeles neighborhoods. That vision became LA Commons, an organization rooted in youth leadership, community connection and the transformative power of art.

From murals and performances to youth-led storytelling and neighborhood festivals, LA Commons has helped create space for Angelenos to share, heal and imagine a better future together.

To honor this journey, we’re launching 25 Stories for 25 Years – a storytelling video series featuring heartfelt interviews with individuals and families whose work, creative journeys and communities have been positively impacted through their connection with LA Commons. Released weekly over 25 weeks, each one-minute film offers a window into the personal and collective impact of the organization’s work, culminating in a celebration at our first annual Colors of Connection Gala on October 16, 2025.
