At the top of the hill, where Slauson and Overhill meet, you will find an exciting congregation of businesses featuring fashion for the body and home as well as eateries to satisfy any cravings. One of the offerings is Cultural Interiors, a home and gift emporium, that carries exquisite items of the highest quality. Owner Gail Hawkins loves to travel and in her store you will find evidence of her explorations to the Caribbean, West Africa, Japan, Mexico, South America, China, Indonesia and more in goods made by talented local artists and craftsmen. In keeping with the spirit of this soothing space, experience a sound bath presented by Cultural Interiors as part of next week’s Found LA Healing Holiday Marketplace. And, if you donate to LA Commons this holiday season you’ll get a discount to help with your holiday shopping list.

A relatively new entrant in the dynamic Leimert Park cultural scene, Nappily Naturals was founded by husband and wife team, Umaar Askia and Sharon Williams-Askia in the fall of 2018.  They came to the realization that there weren't enough culturally inspired NATURAL beauty and health stores in their community so they took it upon themselves to address the gap. At the heart of their business is the belief that men and women have an inherent duty to care for self, love self, and heal self based on collective knowledge and our boundless African ancestral spirit. They will bring this mission to our Healing Holiday Marketplace as part of Found LA next week, through a demonstration that brings together essential ingredients that inspire a joyful life. A donation to  LA Commons this holiday season will get you a discount to help with your holiday shopping list and your self-care.
