Koreatown is a vibrant, densely populated community located in the mid-Wilshire district of Los Angeles. It was originally developed in the late 1800s with what was left of the old downtown Los Angeles. Today the area is made up of the largest Korean community outside of Korea, and has developed into a cosmopolitan center for Korean arts, culture, language and food.
