Taste the Best that Chinatown has to Offer and Celebrate with Locals at the 75th Mid-Autumn Moon Festival
The summer isn’t over quite yet. The annual Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, held at Chinatown’s Central Plaza, is a seasonal celebration—complete with live music, dancing, food and drink—perfect for a continuation of summer fun. Join LA Commons’ very own Karen Mack in Chinatown Saturday, September 21, for a culinary walking tour of the neighborhood before heading over to Central Plaza for the Festival. She’ll take you to the best eateries (trust us, we’ve consulted the right people and even taste-tested everything!), where you’ll also get a free souvenir tasting glass to try out local brews with your meals. Enjoy some traditional delicacies and don’t be afraid to sample the more exotic specialities. The tour will end at the Moon Festival, where you’ll get to mingle with locals, dance to live music, and visit the beer garden available.
We will assemble at 5:00 P.M. at Hoan Kiem restaurant in the Far East Plaza, located nearest the Hill St. entrance of the Plaza. Free parking with validation is located directly beneath Far East Plaza. As always, public transit is encouraged. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and come on an empty stomach!
