A Culinary Adventure through the Byzantine Latino Quarter featuring the 15th Annual Greek Festival
The Byzantine Latino Quarter is often overlooked when considering Los Angeles’ most unique neighborhoods. Local docent Norma Fernandez will show you what the neighborhood has to offer through a culinary lens. Join Norma for a walking tour of the Byzantine Latino Quarter with stops at some of the best local eateries and get a taste of the rich culture found there.
Don’t fill up too soon, though! Our last stop will be at the 15th Annual Greek Festival held at Saint Sophia Cathedral, where you’ll get to sample traditional Greek dishes such as spanakopita, moussaka, gyros, and more. Discover new local cuisines and authentic wine and beer as well. Then dance Greek style in the Zorba Dance Contest and enjoy live music throughout the night.
The tour will meet at Papa Cristo’s at 6:00 P.M. We recommend taking public transit but there will also be parking available for the Festival. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and come on an empty stomach!
