Join artist Roberto Del Hoyo and a group of LA Commons youth as they unveil their mural inspired by the life and works of Marie Fegan. A woman of resiliency, courage, discipline, drive, and an unwavering desire to become a well-rounded influential person, Marie Fegan built four schools in the South Central Los Angeles area with the vision of giving African American children a head start in education. Even through financial, racial, and personal hardship, Marie’s strong-mindedness and unyielding heart opened opportunities for hundreds of children and families.
