RE-ENVISION SLAUSON AVENUE

Community Engagement and Story Gathering Workshop

Monday, November 26th @ 6pm

Junior Blind of America

5300 Angeles Vista Blvd, LA 90043

The Office of Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas is spearheading the Slauson Corridor Revitalization Project and has invited LA Commons to help make a new vision for the neighborhood a reality. Building on a weekend story gathering session led by our own Mobile Mural Lab, where residents have expressed themselves creatively through drawings, written ideas and memories about the communities surrounding the Slauson Corridor, the residents’ vision will help shape the work of LA Commons, which has been tasked with helping community stakeholders identify the distinctive cultural assets that characterize the Slauson Corridor. After two “branding” meetings over the course of the next six weeks, we will create a vision plan that will help guide the development of public improvements, branding and economic development for the neighborhood.

Please join us for Food, Fun and the Story Telling magic of Michael McCarty, all captured by interpretive sketch artist Jackie Chang.

Families are welcome.
